Most couples find that wedding planning is stressful, according to a survey from Zola. Your life is changing in big ways—but are you ready? You may have planned for every possible mishap on the big day, that much is true. But if you’re not focused on your health, it might all be for nothing. The combination of stress and a long to-do list might be affecting your overall health. Fortunately, these hacks can help soothe those frayed nerves and get you back to baseline.

Make Sure You Stay Hydrated

One of the simplest pre-wedding hacks out there is drinking more water. From contributing to a healthy immune system to helping your digestive system get back on schedule, water is essential to your health. Lack of water can also cause kidney and urinary tract problems—two issues you definitely don’t need on your wedding day. The good news is even water-filled foods like grapefruit and watermelon can help your body get the hydration it needs.

Get Enough (or More) Sleep

When you’re in a hurry to nail down wedding details, sleep might be last on your list. After all, you’re too excited to sleep anyway! But missing out on your Z’s not only makes you look tired—it can affect your mental and physical health, too. Plus, sleep deficiency is commonly linked to ailments like diabetes and heart disease.

While you may not be able to truly catch up on your sleep pre-nuptials, getting a few more hours each night can make a huge difference in your appearance and how you feel. So, get yourself a good sleep mask, turn up the white noise, and catch a few extra winks.

Fill in Missing Nutrients

No doubt you’ve been busy as a bride-to-be. From fittings to tasting appointments to venue tours, there’s a lot going on. At the same time, you’re likely aiming to stay healthy by eating lean protein and fruits and veggies. But even with a low-calorie yet healthy diet, you may be missing crucial nutrients.

The right multivitamin can add key nutrients back into your diet. Getting vitamin reserves back up can help positively impact your energy levels and gut health. Of course, the vitamin you choose needs to have bioavailable forms of nutrients. Bioavailable ingredients in vitamins (and real food) are easier for your body to handle and deliver the highest level of nutrition to your body.

Schedule Down Time

With all the running around you’re doing, it might slip your mind that “me” time is a priority, too. But experts say one of the best ways to de-stress is to make time for yourself. “Me time” is an excellent way to zero in on how you’re feeling and dissolve stress. Doing the things you enjoy can bolster your mental health, of course. But stepping away from chaos is just as effective in cutting down on outside pressure.

Then again, socializing is another helpful way to reinvigorate yourself. But you should separate time with your family and friends from wedding planning tasks to keep yourself sane. Go out with the girls, have a barbecue with your family, or kick back and have a movie night with friends, and start feeling more like yourself again.

Delegate Tasks to Friends and Family

One of the perks of wedding planning is your family and friends are more than willing to help. And according to Insider, the top three stressors of wedding planning include taking care of the guest list, nailing down a venue, and getting all the crucial tasks done. Delegating tasks to others means you must loosen your control over the entire event, of course, which can bring up more complex emotions. However, if you’re feeling overwhelmed from the planning, asking for help is better than pushing through it on your own. 

However you manage your big day, following a healthy regimen and freeing up some of your time means you can spend more hours decompressing instead of stressing. Ultimately, you’ll thank yourself for it on your wedding day—and you’ll look and feel healthier for it, too.

Rita’s family asked us to make a short film covering her surprise birthday party at the Condcordville Hotel. I think we were as surprised as Rita at how much fun stuff was going to happen!

We definitely saw a trend this summer for more informal weddings. It’s something we think is neat idea for the right couple. After all, less time sitting for a formal dinner and more time for dancing is never a bad thing! (For the right couple..)

So while yes, less formal does have it’s good qualities here Tara makes some great counterpoints why going to the extreme and eliminating “all the rules” can sometimes lead to some unforeseen issues. Bottom line as we always tell our clients is any idea can work but you must know your guests and take them into account!!

I get that many couples want to do away with the formality and want it to be a relaxed affair. So, when  one of my couples told me that they just didn’t want to have any “rules” and that included not having assigned seating, I didn’t have a problem with it.  However, about 10 minutes into the reception, as people began claiming their seats, I suddenly began to see the error of such a lax attitude toward assigned seating.  Here are just a few reasons why you should have a seating chart:

A complimentary (or free) consultation is something that most wedding vendors offer to potential clients like yourself before you start officially working together. The consultation (or meeting, pow-wow, whatever) usually takes place in an office, at a local meeting spot (like Starbucks) or can also be done over the phone or via Skype (FaceTime, BrideLive, you get the idea).  It can last anywhere from 15 minutes (or quicker) to about an hour. Typically, you will travel to the vendor’s general area for this meeting. If travel is too far (say you live in San Francisco, but your vendors are in PA where you’re planning your wedding) then a phone/Skype call is recommended. This consult is free and requires no obligation on your part.

Danielle nails it so just to echo a few points. When you schedule a consult with us come prepared to pepper us with questions! We set aside an hour or more for consults. There is never a rush! Take your time and let’s cover all the bases. We say it all the time, a prepared bride is a bride we want to work with. The more information you can give us about your vision the better prepared we can be to deliver.

Here are some tips for attending bridal shows:

• Get there early! There will be a line to get in. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a bottle of water for yourself.

• Come with your entourage! No seriously…. Bring your MOH or mother. Anyone to come with you to help you process all the information you’re going to get. It’s really an information overload at Bridal Shows. There is ALOT to take in and it helps to have someone with you to parse through the information.

• Don’t leave out the Groom! We love meeting Grooms at Bridal Shows, remember it’s the biggest day of his life as well.

• Plan to attend two bridal shows. Your first show concentrate on walking around and gathering all the info you can. Consider your first a learning experience. Step back and take it all in. Your second show, come with a plan and be ready to set consultations. We suggest the upcoming Sands Bridal Extravaganza!
