Alyssa and Andrew wedding photography at Bear Creek...

A few weeks ago I was privileged to be the photographer for Alyssa and Andrew.  The ceremony was held at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Bally, PA.  The church is oldest existing Catholic place of worship in Pennsylvania and the fourth oldest Catholic structure in the thirteen original colonies.  It’s a really cute church with a beautiful balcony and gorgeous light coming through the side windows.  After the ceremony we headed to Bear Creek Mountain Resort.  It was drizzling a bit as we left the church, but stopped just as we pulled up to the pond.  After the creative session, the bridal party enjoyed cocktail hour at their hospitality suite while we got a few detail shots.  The staff at Bear creek did an amazing job, as always, making sure the venue looked beautiful and ran smoothly.  Their day was quite beautiful and I want to thank them for allowing Bar None to capture their memories. Sarah & Anthony – Congress Hall – Cape May Highlight Film...

Sarah and Anthony contacted us very late in the planning process due to an unfortunate situation with another vendor. When Sarah told us about the wedding being in Cape May, NJ we we thrilled that we were the ones who were given the opportunity. I told them that I was sorry about the way their planning worked out, but that I had hoped to make this series of events something they would look fondly at as an opportunity to love their wedding film. I am happy to say that the day went perfectly and I believe we were able to deliver on that hope. Congress Hall was glowing in a perfect November day at the beach. After the first look we had an opportunity to capture film both on the beach and the wonderful beach town. By the time the reception was over, the band had rocked the whole party and everyone left energized at the promise this new family brings....

Kaitlin and Jason wedding photography at lockridge park...

A few weeks ago, I was hired to photograph the wedding of Kaitlin and Jason.  I had the pleasure of photographing Jason’s sisters wedding 3 years ago, so I was very excited and honored to be their photographer as well.  They decided to have their wedding ceremony at Lockridge Park in Alburtis.  Normally that sounds pretty awesome, except the same day of their wedding was the  Emmaus High School Senior Prom.  So little did we know, everyone it seemed that was going to the Prom came to Lockridge Park beforehand for photos.  For the most part it wasn’t a huge problem.  The groomsmen took care of the situation…well except for a military man who decided to sneak up behind Kaitlin after the ceremony during the family formals.  Well a fight almost broke out, but it turned out to be her brother who was stationed overseas.  He came home for a few weeks to surprise her on her wedding day.  What a beautiful moment when she saw him!  After lots of photos and tears, we all headed to Fullerton Firehall to have some fun at their reception.   The day turned out to be pretty great!  Thank You for allowing Bar None Photography to capture the memories of the day.   Other Vendors Who Helped Make Their Day Special: Venue: Fullerton Fire Company Make-up Artist/Hair Stylist: Allure Salon and Spa Florist: Katie Moyer Bakery: Piece ‘a Cake Dress: Bridals By Sandra Linens: Taylor Rental DJ: D’s...

Laura and Tommy – Wedding Photography at Riverview Country Club...

At the beginning of the month, I had the pleasure to capture the memories of Laura and Tommy’s wedding day.  The day couldn’t have been more perfect.  Though during bride prep mother nature was threatening us with rain, by the time we arrived to Riverview Country Club everything cleared up and the day was just as beautiful as the venue.  They held their outdoor ceremony across the pond from the venue which is always a gorgeous scene.  Afterwards we walked around the grounds for our formals, then made our way back inside for the reception.  The night was a ton of fun.  I don’t remember the dance floor ever being less then half full.  I’m very thankful to be apart of their special day.  We, at Bar None, wish you years of happiness!   Other Vendors Who Helped Make Their Day Special DJ: Bar None Entertainment Venue: Riverview Country Club Cake: Louie’s bakery Make-up Artist: Daneene Jensen Florist: Always Beautiful...

Katherine and Gabriel at Lockridge Park...

Katherine and I were emailing back and forth for a little over a month (maybe more) trying to lock down a date to have their engagement shoot.  Each date we set it was either snowing or had just snowed.  We were hoping the snow was going to melt when we first started talking about the shoot but every week…snow.  So we decided to embrace it and make it part of their shoot.  I was so happy that we did.  Katherine and Gabe were such a fun couple…and very adorable together to say the least.  I am so excited for their wedding in a few months at the Event Center at Blue...

Chistian & Michael – Woodloch Pines Resort – Wedding Highlight Film...

A week’s worth of cloudy skies and rain finally broke the morning of Christian’s and Michael’s wedding and they couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous and blessed day. Binding their lives to one another in the scenic setting of Woodloch Pines Resort, the bright sky and autumnal colors created a lush background for this intimate affair. Joyful tears and laughter were all around as they recited their handwritten vows for each other and their Celebrant, Alisa Tongg, told their love story. The perfect ceremony came to a close as the sun magically set behind the new Mr. and Mrs. Mercado-Stanton. Once the celebrations had moved inside, the newlyweds were eager to start the night off on a high note, inviting their guests to the dance floor with one of the bride’s favorite jams by Montell Jordan, “This Is How We Do It”. The euphoric and romantic feel from the ceremony carried over in a big way to the reception, and continued long into the night with plenty of giggles, dancing, huge grins, and a lot of love. Their day was truly the stuff of fairytales, one they’ll never...

Jodee and Brandon Wedding at CJ Hummels...

A few weeks ago, we had the rare honor to be the photographer of a winter wedding.  I was very unsure how it would turn out due to the uncertainties of the weather.  I was certainly hoping for snow since the outdoor photos would look quite dull without the pretty colors of spring, summer and fall.  Well……we got what we wanted.  As we arrived at the church for the ceremony it started snowing and continued through the whole night.  It wasn’t just ordinary snow, it was really large pretty snow flakes.  Jodee and Brandon had fun playing at the farm in the barn and with their snowmobile.  Afterward, we headed to CJ Hummels near Hamburg, Pa.  The day was awesome!  Not only was the day perfect due to the photos in the snow, they also had a choreographed dance which they did just after their “I Do’s”, and another bridal party dance after they cut their cake.  Thank You for allowing us to be apart of your day. Caitlin & Ian – Mountain Springs Lake – Wedding Feature Film...

Caitlin & Ian’s wedding at Mountain Springs Lake Resort in Reeder’s, PA was the first time that I had worked this venue. Boy was I in for a surprise with what a great thing they have going on up here. So many venues in the Pocono’s have beautiful scenery with somewhat dated reception halls, but certainly not here. This is one of the best reception halls in the Lehigh Valley/Pocono Area. The families were so diverse and interesting as well, and with Ian’s military background, Caitlin’s amazing dress, and the firecracker send off rounding off the many stories this is one of my favorite films to...

Lauren and Gordon wedding at Bear Creek...

Our last wedding of the year, turned out to be one of the most fun weddings of the season.  Lauren and Gordon tied the knot last month at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Whitehall.  Though before they did, Lauren and the girls went to Studio 950 for their hair and back to her parents house where they met Lauren who applied their make-up.  Gordon, along with his guys, got ready at his own home until it was time for the ceremony.  After the ceremony, we headed to Bear Creek Mountain Resort for the reception.  The night was awesome!  They hired the party band “The Friends With Benefits”, who kept the dance floor packed all night.  During the night, Lauren’s sister took the mic and sang a little and Lauren’s father did a guitar solo as well.  The night was a lot of fun and a great way to end the wedding season.  I wish the newlyweds the best life has to offer. Alissa and Doug at Shawnee Inn Engagement...

After getting to know them, I am so excited already to photograph Alissa and Doug’s wedding day next fall at Shawnee Inn. But for now, I was more than happy to capture the engagement celebration between these two. This would be the first time I’ve been to the Shawnee Inn and I wasn’t sure what to expect as far as scenery and photo opportunities. I had nothing to worry about. I already knew the couple would make for some great photos, but to my pleasant surprise, there were numerous beautiful scenes for us at Shawnee Inn.  So many, that we didn’t even use them all. We’ll save some for the wedding! The Day of the photoshoot was a chilly, windy day, but we persevered. These two were troopers and even though they were a bit cold, they knew how to model… or it came off that way!  It was easy to get great shots because the love they had for each other was obvious and that came through to create great photos. I’m very much looking forward to the wedding now.  I had such a great time capturing their engagement...

Jessica and Vince Wedding Photography at Emerald Valley Farm...

Fun! That’s the first word that comes to mind when we think back on Jessica and Vince’s wedding. Though it wasn’t just fun, it was a romantic and beautiful celebration.  With such a great group of family and friends, we knew from the start, it was going to be a great day.  The women started their day off at Image Hair Studio in Kutztown, Pa.  Afterwards we headed down the road to St. Mary’s Church in Kutztown for some final touches and of course the ceremony. The reception was held at the Emerald Valley Farm in Hamburg, Pa.  The fun started off right when you got to cocktail hour with two games of Corn Hole all set up for the guests.  The venue was a beautiful Barn with a very high ceiling. Which was a good thing because both Jessica and Vincent were tossed high into the air by a few of their guests at some point during the night.  Also, as a result of Jessica winning the dollar dance collection, she was deemed in charge of the funds on their upcoming honeymoon… sorry Vincent 😉  And lastly, Mmmmmm… those cupcakes. Casie and Brandon Engagement Photography...

Casie and I met to check out the scenery a few days prior to her engagement shoot and we saw the beautiful fall leaves everywhere you looked. Though between then and the actual day we met up for the photos, there was a storm that took away quite a bit of our leaves and scenery.  We weren’t going to let that stop us. We were still able to get some great photos and the love between these two were reflected in those photos. They were fun to work with and we had a great time. I was disappointed to find out that their wedding was in NY and that they booked a local New York photographer to photograph their wedding.  We love destination weddings! Allison and Justin Engagement Photography...

Next summer I have the pleasure of being the photographer for Allison and Justin for their wedding at Bella Vista Golf Club.  I’m really excited to work with Allison’s family once again.  A few years ago, I was the photographer for her brother and wife at Bear Creek and they were such an awesome couple.  When Allison and Justin approached me about their wedding, I was very excited.  So, a few weeks ago we went to Bethlehem and did some engagement photography.  It was a cool breezy day, but you would never have know by looking at Allison.  They both were thinking warm thoughts and it turned out so beautiful.  They were so adorable together.  I really looking forward to working with them...

Lauren and David’s Wedding at Pine Brook Hollow...

Lauren and David are one of those couples who, as soon as you meet them, you know you’re going to have a great time. Our day started bright and early with Lauren and her bridesmaids getting ready at Meera Salon and Day Spa in Whitehall.  Once everyone was done, we all headed back to Pine Brook Hollow Tree Farm for the remainder of the day.  Its a gorgeous setting with acres of Pine trees, rustic farm houses and massive open fields that really highlight the beauty of the Lehigh Valley’s rolling countryside. Although the day was a bit rainy and quite cold, Lauren and David’s spirits were soaring high and every moment was filled with laughter and smiles.  They had an outdoor ceremony which took place at the edge of a small pond.  After the ceremony, Lauren and David’s intimate wedding party piled into the best man’s pickup truck so we could drive to some of their favorite spots to shoot some creative sessions. Piled high with bridesmaids and groomsmen, we drove from spot to spot on this gorgeous property for some really fantastic vistas.  After our creative sessions ended, the gang headed back to the pond where a small tent was set up for the reception. With a couple of heat lamps and a dance floor in the middle, it didn’t take long for the party to kick off and everyone to warm up with some good food and great dancing. As the night came to a close this quaint little reception party lit up the edge of the pond like a warm lantern of love and happiness. Emily and George Wedding at Lydia Mountain...

I was honored when Emily and George asked me to photograph their wedding, a few weeks ago, in the mountains of Virginia.  Emily is from the lehigh valley area and George (Drew) from Georgia.  So they thought it would be best to have a wedding somewhere in the middle so it would be easier for both families to attend their special day.   They chose a beautiful rustic venue at the Lydia Mountain Lodge.  It was gorgeous!  They both got ready in log cabins right next to each other and their ceremony site was within walking distance.  Unfortunately throughout the morning it was very foggy, so during the ceremony it wasn’t as picturesque as it had the potential to be.  After the ceremony, we walked around the area taking some photos before walking to the reception site.  I had a feeling throughout the day that this bridal party was going to be on the dance floor all night, and they proved me correct.  They were a really fun bunch and partied all night long.  The dance floor was never close to being empty.  Thank You again for hiring Bar None for your wedding photography.  Congratulations Emily and George! Brittany and David at Bear Creek...

Brittany and David are such a cute couple.  I was hired last fall to be their photographer for both their engagement shoot and wedding.  Now, I’m a huge Eagles fan, but they are such a cute couple that you can forgive them for being Steelers fans! Actually since their wedding, the Steelers have been on a roll with Big Ben making QB history with 12 touchdowns in two games.  Maybe every so often they should renew their vows to ensure the Steelers a good season.  So their wedding took place at the beautiful Bear Creek Mountain Resort.  It was a perfect fall day and it lent itself to a touching first look by the pond. We then went  right into a blue sky accented ceremony at the Woodland Ballroom site. Afterwards we took a few formals before heading into the reception for a night of fun!  The night came to an end with all their family and friends watching the “Same Day Edit” from the day, which was also produced by Bar None! Tracy & Chad – Woodstone Wedding Highlight Film...

Tracy and Chad’s wedding day was as fun as it was picture perfect. Chad got a beer keg from Tracy as his wedding gift, how cool is that? Perhaps not as cool as the beautiful earrings he got for her, but I may be a little biased! The Woodstone Country Club was firing on all cylinders once again providing a stunning backdrop to a heartfelt wedding. The outdoor ceremony site at Woodstone is just perfect, and today would prove to be one of the best days I’ve seen there. The reception was rocking all night long, but fortunately we were able to steal the happy new couple away for a few minutes to enjoy the golden sunset that fell over the mountain in the...

Kristen & Dennis’s wedding had it all, from a beautiful ceremony, creative session with their dog, and even an accordion player! Bear Creek is also never to disappoint as one of the ultimate wedding destinations in the valley, from the many indoor and outdoor touches that separate their weddings from others. Amber and Cory at the Glasbern Inn...

I’ve been waiting for this wedding for quite some time.  I haven’t photographed at the Glasbern Inn before, and when I met Amber and her mother for their walk-through a few weeks prior to their wedding I was really excited for the opportunity to do so. Their whole day took place at Glasbern.  Amber got ready in a suite at the Packhouse, while Cory was at the Stable House.  Before the ceremony I took a few fun photos with the girls.  Boy, were they entertaining to be with.  As the sun was getting lower in the sky, they held their ceremony outside on the lawn.  It was one of the prettiest ceremony sites that I’ve been to.  Once the family formals were over, we got lucky to catch the sun setting over the hills.  Then it was time to party and none better then the band UUU with their high energy to make that happen.  The day was absolutely perfect.  I had so much fun with Amber, Cory and their family and friends.  I wish them the best!   Other Vendors Who Helped Make Their Day Special Band – UUU Lighting – Omnivent Make-up Artist – Lauren’s Makeup Design Flowers – Paisley Peacock Cake – Icing on the Cake Hair – Corey Michaels Salon Officiant – Rev Connie...

Kristen and Joe had a great wedding this summer up at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn at their Ridgecrest facility. If you have never been to a wedding there the view from the ceremony is simply stunning. We try and portray the awe in their film but it is really something you have to see to believe. Complimenting the picturesque ceremony was some beautiful live acoustic singing by Jay Lapp. I was so mesmerized by his rendition of Fields of Gold, even while I was running around like a crazy man trying to get the ceremony set up for filming, that I asked him to record a special version to be used in their wedding film. Jay did not even bat an eye at my request and I just loved ending the film with it. The reception was a blast with great speeches and a rocking dance floor thanks to DJ Mike...

And this all in turn made our job really easy, all we had to do was point our cameras at all the amazing sights that were happening in front of us. Thinking about a more informal Wedding? Sep12

Thinking about a more informal Wedding?

Food for thought from Tara over at the Mauch Chunk Ballroom blog. (By the way GREAT venue in beautiful downtown Jim Thorpe) We definitely saw a trend this summer for more informal weddings. It’s something we think is neat idea for the right couple. After all, less time sitting for a formal dinner and more time for dancing is never a bad thing! (For the right couple..) So while yes, less formal does have it’s good qualities here Tara makes some great counterpoints why going to the extreme and eliminating “all the rules” can sometimes lead to some unforeseen issues. Bottom line as we always tell our clients is any idea can work but you must know your guests and take them into account!! From Tara over at the Mauch Chunk Ballroom Blog: I get that many couples want to do away with the formality and want it to be a relaxed affair. So, when  one of my couples told me that they just didn’t want to have any “rules” and that included not having assigned seating, I didn’t have a problem with it.  However, about 10 minutes into the reception, as people began claiming their seats, I suddenly began to see the error of such a lax attitude toward assigned seating.  Here are just a few reasons why you should have a seating chart: Find out the 3 reasons here!   About us: BarNone Weddings & Entertainment – Serving SEPA Wedding Film, Photography and Entertainment needs including DJ’s, Live Music, Photobooths and Lighting! Lisette & Noel – Hawaiian Destination Same Day Edit...

Watch Couples Reaction     He says in the beginning of the film “one of the most beautiful places in the world.” I would certainly like to see the other places he is referring to as well. The Big Island in Hawaii affords visitors and locals the ability to swim with the dolphins(or manta rays) right off the beach, zip over 300 ft waterfalls on a wire, and boat right up to a volcano spewing red hot lava straight into the ocean. The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is the perfect place to enjoy the more majestic beach scene, and Lisette and Noel did just that. The stunning beachside ceremony was live-streamed to far distant friends and relatives in the Philippines, Philadelphia, and Chicago. The outdoor reception at Hoku Theater was capped by earth shaking fireworks and then, of course, this film! It was a pleasure working with some great people as well. Brittany from the Four Seasons was extremely helpful in getting us acquainted with the large resort. Amy and Matt from Paper Swan Photography created some perfect images that we were able to steal some shots from The DJs, Glenn Schultz & Maka Gallinger, went out of their way to accommodate us with audio recording and setting up the projector. And, of course, we would like to thank the newly married couple for letting us be a small part of their wonderful wedding...

Introducing Digital Delivery for Bar None Wedding Films...

The other day I was packing up my stuff to move into my new place, and it became clear to me that I had accumulated a lot of junk.  And that I would have to throw out a great deal of it before it was all said and done. When it came to my box of DVDs, the decision was fairly easy. Though I had been putting it off for some time now, it was clear that I was never going to watch any of them ever again. Part of it was that they were just the types of movies that you watch once, but for the others- my favorites – I had long ago repurchased them through iTunes so that they would be available in “the cloud” anywhere I went. Heck I didn’t even own a DVD player until I started making DVDs for wedding films. And then it hit me. I was spending a lot of time and effort making something on a dying format. As the Blockbusters around me seem to be closing almost monthly, I feel like I am making VHS tapes in 1999. No one will have anything to play the things on in 5 years! But I am really proud of our DVD product, from the packaging all the way to the professional menus and animations. These things could pass for professional hollywood DVD’s at the local movie store. Surely its not worth it to stop making DVDs yet, is it? No, it’s not. They are going to remain a great option in the products we offer to our customers. However, when I started to think out the many, many advantages of Digital Delivery over DVD (or for that matter, Blu-Ray) it became clear. Everybody is going to...

50 Wedding Photos You Can’t Do Without!...

Your Preceremony Emotions Before the ceremony, you’ll probably have a lot on your mind — namely marrying your best friend — making this the perfect time for your photographer to capture candid smiles and expressions. The Getting Ready Photo The time before the ceremony while you’re getting ready — whether it’s stepping into your dress or having your makeup done — is one of the most exciting parts of the day. A Shot of Your Wedding Dress Your wedding dress — the one you found after months of searching or the one you stumbled upon at a sample sale — will be the focal point of the day. Your Wedding Hairstyle Don’t underestimate your wedding day look. Style photos like one of your hair perfectly pinned back (before you’ve danced the night away) are must-haves. A Fashion Magazine-Worthy Photo of You Once you’re all put together, you’re going to want an I-look-amazing-and-I-know-it shot (trust us, you will!). The Wedding Rings Photo We’ve seen photographers arrange the wedding rings in books, bowls, bouquets, and more. No matter how it’s propped, a good shot of your wedding bands (like this one) is a scene-setter. Personal Notes and Wedding Vows A sign-of-the-times shot of wedding vows typed up on an iPhone notepad is a sweet addition to the photo album. A Photo of Your Bridal Party Black-and-White Action Shots Many times, action shots are just simply better in black and white, and this is one of them. Family Moments A Shot of You and Your Bestie He’s your very best friend or she’s your sister (or both!), and you asked him to be your best man or maid of honor for good reason. A shot of the two of you together for the album is a no-brainer....

Jessica & Vincent – Emerald Valley Farm – Highlight Wedding Film...

Jessica and Vince first met in high school through mutual friends; they attended prom together but went their separate ways for college. Ten years later they were reunited by chance at C.J. Hummels in Lenhartsville. It took many nights of line dancing (at C.J. Hummels) and playing cards on weekends with friends and family until they finally went on their first official date to a Brad Paisley concert at the Allentown Fair. Almost 5 years later Vince got down on one knee and proposed, fittingly, at a Brad Paisley concert during the song “She’s Everything.” It truly is a love that was “16 years in the making.” Their special day began as the ladies prepped at Image Hair Studio in Kutztown and the groomsmen handled last minute tasks and got ready at the hotel. It was a beautiful fall day in October and love was surely in the air (hence all of the wind). They met their guests at their home parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kutztown where Deacon Urbine and Monsignor Scheaffer united them in Holy Matrimony. They then traveled a bit down the road in pick-up trucks to Emerald Valley Farm to greet their guests at cocktail hour complete with cornhole games outside of the barn. Vince and Jessica got the party started with their bridal party and a “Harlem Shake” as their entrance dance. Their guests danced and partied the night away in the romantic and elegant atmosphere in the barn. It was an amazing celebration of love and happiness with friends and...

Diana & Raul – Cosmopolitan Allentown – Highlight Wedding Film...

Despite some rain and cloudy weather, there could not have been a more perfect day for Diana & Raul’s classic-style celebration!  Fashionably donning some vintage-style hairstyles and showing up in a truly classic car, these two certainly had their personalities show through in every aspect of their special day.  Seeing their dedication and commitment to each other was immediately apparent, and testified by their many years as a couple preparing for marriage!  And they certainly knew how to get the party going at the Cosmopolitan in Allentown with DJ Cap Cee spinning the beats.  A bigger group of partiers I have yet to find!  May the next 50 years be as wonderful as the last...
