Here are a few of our favorite venues and some thoughts on each. There are many venues that we love working at but these two in particular stand out as our favorites.

Bear Creek Mountain Resort
Bear Creek is just up the street here in Macungie!

We love venues where the entire day can take place in one location. Eliminating the travel when possible really can open up alot of flexibility in your day. The Hotel at Bear is top notch with beautiful rooms and options for slopeside views. The facility has 3 locations for ceremonies and a recently upgraded promenade the entire length of the resort which offers a prime location for photos. With two restaurants and two bars on the property, disc golf, hiking/biking, 2 pools and jacuzzi’s (and I’m probably forgetting some things!) your out of town guests will not get bored. The facility has two ballrooms on site and the lodge in the offseason is a 3rd with it’s giant stone fireplaces and panoramic views during summer. The show-stopper however, in our opinion is the “Mountain ballroom”. It is very large with vaulted ceilings (perfect for pinspotting centerpieces) and phenomenal winter and fall views. Just outside is a large and comfortable cocktail area and a huge deck just outside  the room for guests to catch their breath when taking a break from dancing! Although excellent any season, Bear Creek is definitely our favorite fall/winter choice.
Bear Creek can handle some very large receptions in the huge yet still cozy Mountain Ballroom.

The Inn at Bally Springs
Are you looking for a country setting? Nestled within nearly 60 acres of rolling farmland, The Bally Spring Inn is a country retreat offering superb accommodations for weddings. As we said above with Bear Creek the Inn at Bally Springs gives you the option of holding your ceremony, reception and offering accommodations all in one unique location.

The facility houses nine rustic and unique rooms in our main building. There are an additional three charming rooms in the adjacent carriage house. The Inn’s accommodations are an added convenience that makes the Inn an extraordinary place to host your event.

Very unique is the setup for dancing. We typically will setup our DJ equipment above the dancefloor on a balcony! Check out this photo we took from the “DJ Perch” at a recent wedding.

Here are a few other venues that in our opinion excel at specific areas:

Our favorite food (and trust us, we eat venue food every weekend!) is Iron Lakes Country Club. The most recent wedding we did had plates with steak, chicken AND crab cake. The Crab Cake was exceptionally delicious on an overall above par plate.

The best outdoor ceremony site is Shawnee Golf Resort in the Poconos. Outdoor vows can take place either in the Riverside pavilion or in the open right next to the Delaware surrounded by mountains and of course with the historic Inn in the background.

Most unique venue we’ve ever worked was an old completely restored private barn out near crystal cave. See the Film of the ceremony here.

Best for very large parties is a tie…. Penns Peak. The “ballroom” which is actually the concert venue is gigantic, yet doesn’t feel it. While many venues in the area are on the base of a mountain, at Penns Peak your on TOP the mountain! Everything here is a on a Grand Scale even down the giant marquee which displays the couples names right next to the world famous national recording artists who perform here.

Also the Bethlehem Masonic Temple is a gigantic ballroom in the classic style. Definitely worth checking out for the largest of receptions. Can easily hole 275+

Best cozy venue for small parties is Allentown’s Cosmopolitan. The new upscale anchor of Allentown’s growing restaurant district. The upper ballroom is an excellent choice for parties in our estimation >100. Possibly even a little more utilizing the balcony in the room. Check out the rooftop “Skylounge” bar!

Architects Golf Club is another one of our favorites. Great outdoor ceremony location. A large tent is available for cocktail hour Spring through Fall. This room looks great with uplighting.
